Welcome. And thank you for visiting my under-construction website. I appreciate your support.
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together during my service as your Assemblymember, representing Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. I’d be honored to have your support in my campaign to serve as your next State Senator, representing a district that includes more of our coastline, more voters, and a broader range of communities in the same two counties.
I was born and raised here, and I feel lucky to live here with my husband, Michael. My life and values have been shaped by this community and by the diversity of experiences I’ve known as your elected leader. I have a proven record of working to improve our schools, protecting our environment, expanding job training, advancing women’s health care – and standing up for consumers.
My experience gives me a unique understanding of how state policies impact us locally. I’m a strong voice at the State Capitol for our local communities, helping shape outcomes for our local schools, environment, neighborhoods, and economy.
Our communities suffered destructive natural disasters, and I’ve worked to partner with state, federal, and local leaders to ensure that we have the ability to rebuild and recover. As the former Chair of the State Assembly Select Committee on Natural Disaster Response, Recovery, and Rebuilding, I’ve fought to improve emergency communication, clean up hazardous materials, and create a statewide taskforce on fire prevention. I’m proud to be supported by the California Professional Firefighters.
My work to protect our environment has earned me the support of the California League of Conservation Voters. I’ll continue to protect our coast and tackle the causes of climate change.
Access to healthcare continues to be a priority for our community and I’m working with a coalition to protect and improve it. I earned a 100% voting record with Health Access California, helped pass prescription drug pricing transparency, and wrote new laws providing emergency physicians with critical medical records and keeping the cost of cancer medication down.
I’d be honored to have your support – and your vote.
